Here’s the secret: you build it in your own living room! Print images of the location and put them in picture frames purchased at a second-hand store – spread them all over the room. Spend a few dollars buying music from the location to play during the day. Spend a few more dollars to either buy food of the area or ingredients to make it yourself. Are there any movies that take place in the location? Add cinema time to the day by enjoying them together while sipping a beverage you create and name after her or the location. Can you find books about the place at the second-hand store? Get them! Or spend some of the $60 on a nice coffee table book about the place. And don’t just look through the books together, take on the role of a TOUR GUIDE for her and guide her through the location as you flip the pages of the book. (“If you look to the left, you’ll see our most famous landmark…”). Do they speak a foreign language in the place? Learn some phrases to toss out during the day. Or better yet, buy a travel dictionary and spend some time teaching each other phrases to remember! For the end of the day, have a small token souvenir wrapped so that she has something to take home and treasure for the many years ahead you’ll spend together.
